Top Tips for Researching Your German Ancestors
Thursday, March 7 2024, 11am–12pm - Online

What are the top methodologies for researching Germans? What are the most helpful types of records / documents and where do you find them?

Whether it’s learning German phonetics or identifying the correct immigrant wave, beginners get answers to get started and seasoned researchers a double-check and inspiration to more forward!

Presented by James M. Beidler.  James came by his German genealogy expertise honestly – it took him more than 20 years of searching to find any ancestry that wasn’t from Germany! Beidler is a columnist for German Life magazine and is considered a "go-to" person for German genealogy articles and lectures. He has written several books on researching the genealogy of German-speaking peoples.

This program is presented by Surrey Libraries in partnership with the BCGS.
